Heng Long Panzer III Ausf L into an early Panzer III Ausf
J or 'Special' with the shorter 50mm KwK L/42 main gun, early
style stowage box, mantlet and rear engine deck air intakes
and hatches arrangements. The extra turret front and hull
front armours on the Ausf L are not yet fitted on the Ausf
J.

Only 24 of these assault infantry guns were produced and
they served mainly on the Russian Front during 1942/43.
To be completely accurate, teh lower hull should be of Ausf
E/F specification.

F. Comprises early style turret and cupola, 37mm main gun,
early sprocket and idler covers and different engine deck
hatches arrangments.

The
Ausf E was the first in the series to go into extended production.
Its basic design remain unchange to the end of the series.
This is characterised by the 6 roadwheels and 3 return rollers.
Specific features are the old style turret and cupola. Main
armament was the 3.7mm KwK L/46.5 with an internal mantlet.
